Setup Instructions

Step 1: Cut the Power

At your home's circuit breaker or fuse box, shut off the breaker for the switch you plan to replace. Verify the power is off before you begin.

Step 2: Remove the Old Cover Plate

Using a screwdriver, take out the screws that hold the existing cover plate. Lift the plate away and set it aside.

Step 3: Extract the Old Switch

Unscrew the old switch from the electrical box and pull it forward gently to expose the wiring.

Step 4: Release the Wires

Disconnect the wires from the old switch. If they are secured around terminal screws, loosen the screws. If the wires are pushed into rear slots, you may need to clip and re-strip the ends.

Step 5: Wire the New Dimmer Switch

Connect the wires to the new dimmer:

  • If your dimmer has terminal screws, wrap the bare wire ends around the screws and tighten.
  • If it has push-in terminals, insert the stripped wire ends into the openings.

Step 6: Seat the New Switch

Tuck the wires neatly into the electrical box. Fasten the dimmer to the box using the provided screws.

Step 7: Attach the Brass Cover Plate

Position the brass plate over the dimmer and secure it with the included screws.

Step 8: Restore the Power

Turn the breaker back on once everything is securely in place.

Step 9: Test the Dimmer

Rotate the diamond-cut knob to verify smooth, even dimming. Your lights should brighten and dim progressively without flickering.
